Full Term Baby. Week 37- A Whisper to a Scream.

So, we got Aiden's baby milestone books yesterday. There is a space there for "who is the president", and all I can do is grin. That's right, the president came up, and I smiled.

It seems a lot has happened since I last posted. We have been to childbirth classes, and breastfeeding classes. The breastfeeding class was interesting, and made more so by watching all the men made bored and uncomfortable by boobie talk. Drew, of course, found it so interesting I had to tell him to quit "oohhing, aahing, and hmming " because he was making the other guys look bad. I have read as much labor literature as any woman should ever read, and my bag is packed. The nursery section of our room is set up, and I have purchased my first schlepy mom nightgown. We've got car seats, and strollers, and onesies and wipes. I can count the stuff I think we need on two hands. We have one mom sending baby leggings, and another making casseroles. We have a village of support, and a best friend who sticks his head in my confinement room every day and asks " Is it here yet?"

My ob appointments are weekly now, and everything still looks good. He is about 6.5 pounds now and in the head down position. My blood pressure was high for the first time this week, and we are keeping an eye on it. The worst that will mean is induction if it gets any higher. Drew remains a supportive rock star, and Aiden now kicks with such force that it scares the dog.

Now if only he would show up. Because if I am honest with you, I will tell you he is placing a strain on our friendship right now. I forgave him the nausea, but now this kid is bucking me I tell you. He is becoming more independent and assertive, opinionated, pushy, and unmanageable. He is already the teenage child I am sure my family hoped I would get. He is an unruly tenant, and if he were my upstairs neighbor I would bang the ceiling with a broom handle. He is a squatter defacing the property and I think he's building a meth lab. The real kicker here? I am told this is the easiest he is ever going to be. Hallelujah I love him so.
